Caught between a rock and a river

Our legendary 13 hours of walking ended in complete darkness in an increasingly steep ravine with a cliff face on one side, boulders beneath us and a raging river on the other. We were completely lost.

With no space to pitch a tent we put down our sleeping bags for the night and, joking nervously about flash floods and insects crawling into our mouths, had a fitful night's sleep. This is Tal the next morning wondering where the hell he is and wondering how on earth to get out of it.

Six hours later we were back in relative civilization, having found the enormous and very obvious bridge we should have crossed the previous day.
