This is Samuel Laso and his wife and daughter. The three of them were our guides up to the aforementioned (previous photo) pass, which is where they are sitting in this picture. Needless to say the daughter skipped and jumped her way up, while we gringos puffed and panted up to the 4741st metre.

We had a picnic here before Laso's wife, daughter and the two mules returned home and we pressed onwards carrying our own packs.
